Kara: April 2

Nate! I don't think I've ever told you how much I admire your minimalist drawing style. Well, I say minimalist because I feel mine is quite cluttered in comparison. I like how your pen strokes are so confident and definite that one line is often all it takes to convey part of whatever it is you're drawing. I tried to do something similar tonight but um... it didn't work.

Raeanna and Ben from my graphic novel. (Surprise surprise.) They were chosen for their high school yearbook's Best Friends Senior superlative spread. I suspect that this may be one of the pictures they took.

Just a quick sketch of my Final Fantasy XI character, Beltaine.

This was mostly for Jon, who asked for some turnarounds many months ago so he could sculpt something. This fellow popped up in some lunch break doodles a couple days ago. He's a cartoony happy-go-lucky beartrap-faced outdoorsman dude with an axe and a mystery sack. Is he a slasher, or merely misunderstood?

DEDA (to me) is about playing it fast and loose so we can get our creativity in motion and maybe make something interesting. Though, having said that, it'd be nice if I'd kept the right head level with the left one. Oh, the well.

Nina: April 1

I ended up sketching a picture of one of my youtube friends with one of her friends because I had no idea what to draw! Haha
Hopefully this issue doesn't continue the rest of the month!

Quick sketches for two main characters from the graphic novel I'm writing up for Script Frenzy. DEDA + Screnzy = double deuce!

Hey... It's that one chick. From my, uh... brain? The girl with the wings?

End o' April

My drawings today were fairly non-noteworthy, with the exception of a Firegrave pic drawn on a placemat in lip liner. The placemat was thrown away by a busser. I'll try and get up a nice final piece in the next few days.

Anyway, this has been a real blast. Though we each would have liked to have done more, I'm pretty stoked that we completed as much as we did. Hopefully, we keep this flame a'burning and spend more of our downtime doodling. I, for one, plan to lay down some color and finish up some of these pieces.
