Okay, so depending on your source, a cockatrice can kill you or petrify you with a glance. I took an extra step in the "kill" direction by giving this one laser eyes. And there's the bard again. He's running from a deadly monster, trying to incapacitate it with a song played on a recorder. That's probably a level of difficulty most of us aren't too familiar with.
